Wade’s Mill unbleached All Purpose Flour is stoneground from a non-GMO soft red winter wheat variety called “Viper”, which is grown exclusively for us by a small family farm in Dayton, VA. After grinding, we sift approximately 70% of the bran and germ out of the final flour. It’s a versatile pantry staple that can be used every day for most baking needs and a good choice for any recipe calling for “plain” flour. You will definitely notice a flavor and texture improvement when using it in place of the standard, highly processed All Purpose Flour from the grocery store.
All Purpose Flour is also a thickening agent for sauces, gravies and stews, and used to dredge meat, fish and vegetables before frying, sautéing or baking. Using All Purpose Flour for thickening, frying and baking.
